NBC Miami - NiteTalk: Kill Miss Pretty's Alicia Olink

"Like some back-alley fairy tale come to life, neo-glam rock band Kill Miss Pretty shocks and awes it audience with notoriously wild stage shows. Both guitarist Russ Rogers and bassist Martin Davis are know to sport Tim Burton-esque duds but all eyes are generally on singer Alicia Olink, whose presence is at once bedazzling and beguiling." Getting wet with Kill Miss Pretty (Palm Beach Post)

I was first introduced to Kill Miss Pretty’s music back at Moonfest in October. Since then, I have been intrigued by these guys and gal that (in my mind) stole the show Halloween night. As the Boynton Beach based trio prepares to release their latest single, “Judy Garland”, we sat down with them to see what’s going on in their land of Oz.

Having been a unit for a few years now, Russ (guitar/programming), Alicia (vocals), and Martin (bass) seem more like a family than anything else. There is a closeness about them that is apparent from the moment all three of them are in the room. Not having a live drummer also cuts down on the amount of noise coming out of their practice space. With the talent and dynamic these musicians posses, there certainly isn’t a need for one.

http://citylinkmix.com/music/kill-miss-pretty-a-tight-squeeze/

If Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz were really Alicia Olink from Boynton Beach electropunk act Kill Miss Pretty, and her house that spun through the air in a twister were really the much-adored but defunct Fort Lauderdale nightclub Squeeze, the whole scene might resemble the nightclub Sea Monster, the former site of Squeeze, this Saturday. Kill Miss Pretty will take the stage at the club to debut its new single, “Judy Garland,” which features Olink whispering, “I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.”
