New song(s) & recording update

Well, we've been pretty busy lately working on some new tunes. Hoping to get them fully crafted by the time our next slew of shows begins in late August so we can premier them live.
One song, we recently recorded which isn't so new, is called Judy Garland. This one features our pally Scott Putesky on guest guitar, and we recorded it at Adam Balevic's & Gustav's new studio. Pretty sweet place w/ lots of analog goodies. See the photo on the right. The tune is coming out downright spooky - quite different than how we do it live so it almost seems like a new song.

Two other tunes "in progress" are called FACE and SELF (tentative title). These are actually heavier yet dancier than stuff on our last record, and are quite fun to develop. A couple more songs are in the works, and those will round out what will be our next CD. We've got some really interesting things planned for the launch of this next album so get ready.

I am planning to blog here often so make sure to check back in with us and see what's up....ya never know....maybe free tracks, previews, giveaways...could be anything.

KMP is Bringing SEXY Back

From:
Danation: Sex, moms and rock 'n' roll
A search for sexy local bands proves that the devil's music never gets old

By Dan Sweeney
City Link Metromix
July 21, 2009

..But overall, if there's a sexiest local band, it's probably Kill Miss Pretty. The electro-punk group out of Boynton Beach, fronted by distractingly stunning Alicia Olink, is easily the most brazenly sexual group in South Florida (with the possible exception of José el Rey, but that's a different story). With her onstage attire ranging from slutty Alice in Wonderland to slutty police officer and slutty Catwoman, if anyone's bringing sexy back around here, it's Olink. And like the Pretty Faces and the Freakin Hott, Kill Miss Pretty has the added bonus of making fine music and attracting a crowd filled with women whom you can buy a drink without getting arrested. Nothing, really, is less sexy than county jail.

HOT Summer Video

SWEATING THE DAY AWAY

Well it's that time of year again. It's hot, it rains every day at 3 pm, and WE the KMP need to get our butts outside and film a video. Only this time, YOU get to choose which one. While we prepare our next musical offering, we've decided to do one last video off of our "Permission for Strange" album. Select from the following songs, and email your choice to summervideo@killmisspretty.com.

1. GROUND
2. MUSIC IS NOTHING
3. GLOWS IN THE DARK

We'll also pick one person at random (from the submissions) to come and enjoy the heat of filming with us on set as we sweat our tushies off. ALSO, we've created a little video recap of embarrasments from past summer endeavors so that you can see what you (and we) are in for.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

STUDIO UPDATE
We are really really close to putting to bed our next single which will come out in advance of our fall CD release. The track is called Judy Garland, and we've been lucky enough to get our pal SMP aka Daisy Berkowitz, to lay down some magic on it. Album/Video concepts have been swirling around like mad, so you can be sure that come October, we'll be getting our freak on all over again.

"Best Female Rock Vocalist 2009"
We are very proud of our own Alicia Olink for taking home New Times Magazine's "Best Female Rock Vocalist 2009". Here's a little quote: "On the group's latest album, Permission for Strange, Olink slithers through one slippery range. She might move from a bratty schoolgirl sing-speak to a subdued coo to an all-out wail. It's as explosive as her onstage antics and just as exciting."
